We have an exciting opportunity in our Operational Purchasing Team within Commercial Services at University Hospitals Dorset.You will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination and supervision of colleagues who undertake the operational buying for defined areas within the trust.Along with the support of senior colleagues they will be required to liaise with a variety of colleagues and suppliers to provide a highly professional and responsive buying service that meets operational requirements and supports patient care.You should have experience of working in a purchasing, supply chain or inventory management environment and will ideally have had experience in leading or supervising a team.A good level of keyboard skills and abilities with applications including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook would be required. Excellent communication skills are essential and previous experience of NHS working may be advantageous. The most important requirement for those who meet the minimum criteria will be your enthusiasm to support and lead a team and make a difference in driving value for our patients and colleagues.The role is a full time 37.5 hour week. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Attainment of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) advanced certificate vocational level 3 and/or additionally completed satisfactorily recognised procurement key skills training courses. Or equivalent training and professional experience. Awareness of contract law principles.
