Overview: Chubb is looking for a Program Manager to join our team. This role sits within the EMEA IT team who are responsible for understanding the IT demands, priorities and problem areas within the business teams and making sure all IT requirements are understood and being managed. The EMEA IT team ensure that all service issues are addressed and project demand is met and managed through the agreed governance process. Working within the EMEA IT PMO team, the IT Programme Manager role will be responsible for managing a small team of Project Managers as well as projects assigned to them. These projects will cover the full project lifecycle from ideation and initiation – understanding the business objectives and benefits and getting approval for the project to proceed – through the delivery phase and transition to the BAU teams. This is a critical role in the IT organisation and the PM will be working closely with the IT management teams and many of the key business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivery in time and on budget. Responsibilities: Line management of a small team of Project Managers based in both London and Greece. Ensure projects have defined objectives and goals which are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely Ensure projects follow appropriate governance and compliance processes and any deviations are captured, communicated and approved via the appropriate channels Ensure projects deliver the benefits on time, to budget and with the appropriate level of quality Ensure that resources providing project governance are aware of their roles and responsibilities Ensure that progress is measured against the schedule, that corrective action is taken and that project governance is operated via regular status reporting and various monthly/quarterly steering group meetings Manage trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost in accordance with the Critical Success Factors as projects progress Manage production of required project deliverables as defined in the project plan. Identify and manage changes to the project’s scope, ensuring that impact assessments are undertaken, that appropriate authorisation is secured and that adjustments to plans are made and communicated to all stakeholders Implement clear escalation procedures, identify and manage project issues and risks, and ensure that contingency plans are prepared and actioned in a timely fashion Where issues will take the project outside of project or stage tolerance, prepare an exception plan for approval by the steering group and, upon approval, action the plan in a timely manner Increase the accuracy of project estimates after the initiation phase, ensure that correct contingency levels are applied and adjusted throughout the project, and that the contingency budget is managed rather than consumed Ensure that the appropriate communication is in place to the relevant individuals/parties as identified in the communications plan Ensure that all projects and project deliverable are documented in sufficient detail to facilitate internal and external audits Identify, plan and manage cross project dependencies, particularly where there is resource contention and apply release management in conjunction and cooperation with the other project managers Skills: A recognised PM qualification is desirable but not mandatory Good knowledge of formal project management methodologies including a solid understanding of when and where both soft and hard skills are appropriate Ability to manage projects in a dynamic development environment Ability to manage stakeholder personalities; ability to persuade, influence and direct the business community and keep key users onside and bought-in Highly organised, extremely goal oriented mindset; logical, thorough and detail-oriented Strong knowledge of MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word required Articulate, with strong visualisation & presentation skills Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognised university Excellent written and spoken communication skills Self-starter and ability to run business workshops Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and you can work 2 from home Qualifications Experience: Experience of project delivery over with at least 6 years’ experience of working as a Project manager Experience of the financial services &/or the insurance sector a distinct advantage Experience working in an international environment, managing cultural and language challenges Experience of working with outsource providers with an on/offshore model Experience in a similar role for a blue chip organization Experience of managing projects in a waterfall environment with elements of agile.
