As a Site Reliability Engineer at Morrisons, you'll play a critical role in shaping and driving excellence in software engineering and reliability across multiple domains. Acting as a technical lead, you'll collaborate with Technical Architects, Lead Software Developers, and supplier engineering teams to define and implement robust engineering standards and principles.
Your expertise will contribute to maintaining and enhancing automated CI/CD platforms, secure coding practices, and observability frameworks, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost efficiency. You'll champion innovation, technical improvement, and FinOps initiatives, while proactively reducing technical debt and enhancing automation.
With a focus on monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues, you'll drive continual improvement and ensure Morrisons applications and infrastructure are resilient, efficient, and aligned with architectural goals. This is a key role for those passionate about advancing SRE practices at enterprise scale.
Responsibilities
1. Act as SME within their Domain teams for advice & guidance in terms of CI/CD, automation and product ways of working and SRE/Engineering standards
2. Drive the adoption of Engineering standards and Continuous Delivery principles within multiple domains
3. The escalation point for SRE/Engineering ways of working
4. Influence good practices and standards within SDLC throughout the business
5. Influence partners Infrastructure best practices
6. Implementation of least privilege approach for services
7. Monitoring and Alerting strategy and patterns
8. Engineering Tooling, Patterns, Framework and Standards
9. Proprietary code quality management inclusive of technical debt
About You
Knowledge
1. In depth understanding of SRE/ Engineering, Architecture and Testing practices
2. In depth understanding of the principals of CI/CD within SRE/Engineering
3. In depth understanding of Cloud hosting (AWS preferred) principals and managing infrastructure as code
4. In depth understanding of software/infrastructure application monitoring frameworks
5. Excellent understanding of Product Team structures and principals.

Experience
