We have an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join the Conveyancing Department within a local and highly reputable law firm.
This a full time, permanent role based from offices in the Chesham area.

The Role:
As a Commercial Property Legal Assistantt, you will be responsible for providing legal assistance and administrative support to Commercial Property Fee Earners and Other fee earners as required.
This is a varied role, where you will be answering the telephone, taking messages and dealing with clients and other people calling at the office. You will be dealing with compliance matters, opening and closing them using LEAP software, producing completion statements and drawing up bills, making appointments and attending to clients.
You will also deal with posy completion matters and with Land Registry, as well as general paralegal and administrative tasks in relation to individual file management:
1. Word processing
2. Sending and receiving e-mails
3. Filing
4. Photocopying, Sending and receiving faxes
5. Linking incoming post to appropriate case files
6. Ensuring outgoing post/DX is taken to reception for dispatch
Requirements:
7. Experience of working in a Commercial Property team (min. 1 year)
8. Audio typing – 60+ words per minute
9. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
10. High standard of English grammar and spelling
11. Excellent attention to detail
12. General administration/office skills
13. Strong telephone skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
14. Time management skills with ability to prioritise own workload
15. Good knowledge of the commercial property processes and commercial property terminology
16. A friendly and approachable nature with an enthusiastic approach to the job
17. Ability to work as part of a team
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
19. Ability to deal sensitively with clients
20. Confident meeting with clients and speaking to clients and other third parties
21. Experience of using office equipment, e.g. photocopiers, scanners, fax machines
22. Filing experience
23. Diary management
24. Knowledge of forms/layouts used in legal documentation
25. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
26. Experience in handling the administrative side of commercial property transactions
27. A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work as part of a team
Must have a good working knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct and Accounts Rules
