An exciting position has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a multi-entity faith-based Charity based in Central London. The role will sit within the Financial Planning and Analysis team, providing first-line support on management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
Key responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
1. Produce regular monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany recharges.
2. Maintain accuracy in SAP, resolve coding issues, and ensure compliance with deadlines.
3. Assist with grant calculations and purchase order reviews.
2. Support for Finance Business Partners:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and reports.
2. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and central services cost recovery.
3. Provide ad hoc analysis and improve reporting processes.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Provide guidance on financial policies and compliance.
2. Support stakeholders in financial literacy through training and advice.
3. Ensure robust assumptions and documentation for financial projections.
4. Process Improvement:
1. Develop guidance manuals and streamline processes.
2. Enhance data quality in SAP and address system inefficiencies.
5. Audit and Compliance:
1. Provide accurate information for statutory and internal audits.
2. Promote best practices and maintain financial control standards.
Ideal candidate profile:
1. AAT qualification.
2. Strong technical expertise including Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g. SAP).
3. Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
4. Proven ability to handle large datasets, identify anomalies, resolve issues, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
5. Strong collaborator and confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, and provide training/support.
6. Self-motivated, proactive, and well-organised, with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
Location: Central London
Contract: 2-year fixed-term contract
Salary: £38,900 per annum
Working hours: 35 hours per week
Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
