We are currently wishing to employ an experienced Project Manager to manage challenging Civils projects in the water sector.
We would require the candidate to oversee contracts from pre-commencement through to operational handover, ensuring that work is completed to project requirements on time and within its budget. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing contracts to a successful delivery.
High levels of motivation and resilience, together with strong technical and organisational skills are essential for this role. The candidate will have a proven track record as a project manager coupled with a strong commercial acumen and design knowledge. They will demonstrate integrity, a hard-working ethic and be target focused, whilst embracing the challenges and changes within the Industry. The project manager will play a key role in supporting a team culture within their team and as part of the company.
Responsibilities
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of DB and DBO contracts for public and private clients, developing and maintaining the company's standing as a main contractor in the water and wastewater sector in Ireland.
2. Management of a project team including design staff, project staff, sub-contractors, and support staff.
3. Support senior management in the delivery of contract objectives and client goals.
4. Responsibility for project management, project control, engineering management, and construction.
5. Manage and liaise with internal and external design teams in a multi-disciplinary environment, providing commercial and technical guidance (civil, process, mechanical, electrical, ICA, H&S, BIM).
6. Effectively maintain and develop healthy core values.
7. Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost, and schedule issues.
8. In-depth programme planning and scheduling of project deliverables and the development of resource-loaded schedules for design and contract administration services.
9. Drive and ensure consistent implementation of health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures to client-defined standards across all contracts (PSDP and PSCS).
10. Prepare accurate and timely status reports for clients and management.
11. Consistently deliver on each project to achieve objectives for project financial performance and all aspects of overall project delivery (quality control, risk management, and profitability).
Essential:
1. Project Management experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally within the water industry.
2. Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering-related discipline.
3. Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work in close partnership with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
5. Delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on time, cost, and quality objectives.
6. Extensive experience in project delivery.
7. Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
8. Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with the ability to negotiate and administer.
9. Ability to present at MWHT Governance Reviews in a leading capacity.
10. Risk & Opportunity Management experience.
11. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
12. Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
Desirable:
1. Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
2. Chartered with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
3. NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
4. Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
