Overview
The Director of Supply Chain Management is responsible for delivering effective contracting strategies and expertise that result in supply chain cost reductions. Executes initiatives and manages processes related to sourcing, purchasing, and warehouse operations. Responsible for financial analysis and strategic inventory objectives that will result in more profitable operations. Works in partnership with the Enterprises, and other operational management teams to maximize efficiencies and minimize costs.
Responsibilities
Sourcing and Procurement:
* Partners across the Enterprises on purchases of goods and services by recommending and securing the best pricing options.
* Responsible for strategy development and management of suppliers and purchasing activities.
* Oversees Purchasing department activity, evaluates processes, and develops new procedures as needed.
* Identifies, engages, evaluates, and compares suppliers for acquiring goods and services at the most competitive price.
* Actively manages supplier relationships.
* Monitors suppliers’ performance to ensure delivered services conform to the contracted requirements.
* Implements changes as appropriate when suppliers' performance is deficient.
* Provides routine and ad hoc financial reports and analysis related to purchasing and inventory management.
Inventory Management/Warehousing:
* Oversees receiving operations to ensure accuracy in all processes from product attainment to product delivery to the operational end user.
* Oversees Warehouse operations to ensure efficient and safe inventory control processes and procedures.
* Develops, implements, maintains and modifies inventory control procedures, standard operating procedures, compliance procedures.
* Ensures proper inventory levels to meet the needs of the Enterprises.
* Responsible for ensuring equipment is in good and safe working condition to maintain operational efficiencies.
* Oversees inventory control ensuring inventory and consumption analysis to resolve inventory problems.
* Responsible for maintenance and proper use of the inventory management system and purchasing software by staff members to ensure all procurement, receiving and warehouse activities are accurately recorded.
* Acts as point person and liaison to Information Technology Services department concerning the inventory system; ensures training to Team Members as needed.
* Partners with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement including, but not limited to warehouse operations time, staff schedules, and delivery schedules to internal customers.
* Responsible for ensuring all Warehouse staff are properly trained on safety standards and procedures.
* Establishes safety procedures aligned with FDA requirements for food storage.
* Responsible for analyzing financial reports, including cost of sales, inventory movement, and inventory valuation for operational department management teams to perform more efficiently and cost effective.
* Hires, trains, develops, empowers, coaches, counsels, conducts performance and salary reviews, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, disciplines, and recommends terminations as appropriate.
* Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High School diploma or GED certificate.
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting or equivalent work experience.
* Ten years’ experience in Supply Chain management, financial/business analysis or related financial experience.
* Three years operations experience including strategic planning in a Food, Beverage, Retail or Hospitality related environment.
* Experience with inventory management software applications.
* Advanced knowledge of accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, planning, control methods, and management reporting.
* Knowledge of applicable law, regulations, rules, procedures, and administration is required.
* Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail and Internet.
* Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
* Native American hiring preference applies.
