Role Overview
This Advanced Clinical Pharmacist role is tailored to support mental health services, providing expert medicines management and clinical guidance within a hospital setting. The successful candidate will leverage their in-depth knowledge of mental health pharmacy and experience in clinical decision-making, team leadership, and service improvement to drive high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Expertise in Mental Health: Provide specialized medication management, ensuring safe and effective use of psychotropic medications in collaboration with mental health teams.
* Patient and Caregiver Education: Offer clear, compassionate guidance to patients and caregivers, addressing medication concerns, usage, and safety.
* Clinical Audit and Service Improvement: Actively participate in audits and service improvement projects to enhance pharmacy practices and patient outcomes.
* Staff and Resource Management: Oversee the management of pharmacy staff and resources, supporting team development and efficient service delivery.
* Medicines Information Support: Serve as a primary resource for medicines information, offering evidence-based advice to healthcare professionals on psychotropic medications and treatment plans.
Requirements
* Pharmacy Registration and Experience: Substantial post-registration experience as a pharmacist, with hospital and mental health pharmacy experience.
* Specialist Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mental health pharmacy, including therapeutic approaches and medication safety considerations.
* Leadership in Audit and Projects: Proven experience in audit, service change, or project management.
* Professional Development (CPD): Evidence of ongoing CPD activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
* Computer Literacy: Proficient in pharmacy systems, Microsoft Office, and online resources for clinical research and information.
