Senior Ecologist

Allen & York are excited to be working with a leading UK multi-disciplinary planning consultancy, providing environmental advice to high profile clients including house builders, utility companies, conservation organisations, landowners, and public bodies.
Our client is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Senior Ecologist to play a key role in the established and highly respected team.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with landscape, master planning and archaeology/heritage colleagues, developing and delivering great outcomes for people and nature.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct protected species surveys, including personal species survey licences and habitat survey experience (including UKHab).
2. Maintain a strong working knowledge of relevant wildlife legislation.
3. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues.
4. Undertake night-time surveys (typically one or two per week during the main survey season), including occasional overnight stays.
Qualifications:
1. Relevant ecology/biology degree.
2. Membership of CIEEM (ACIEEM or above).
3. Full, clean UK driving licence and own car insured for business use.
4. Strong technical specialism (such as bat, ornithological or botanical skills) is advantageous.
5. Level 2 bat licence or FISC level 3 or above would be advantageous.
