LeedsTeaching Hospitals are looking to recruit a Band 6 Diabetes Specialist Nurseto join the multidisciplinary team. The service delivers highly specialistdiabetes care to patients with Type 1 diabetes, complex Type 2 diabetes andprovides in-patient care. We cover the diabetes centre at St Jamess Hospitaland in- patients at St James University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary,Chapel Allerton Hospital Wharfedale Hospital and Seacroft Hospital. We arelooking for an individual who is enthusiastic and committed to the provisionof excellence in diabetes care and who wants to further develop theirknowledge and skills in this field. The successful applicant will strengthenour specialist nurse team, providing expert advice to patients, education tostaff and will work across the outpatient and inpatient service. Trainingwill be given to provide expert care in highly specialist clinics to include;antenatal, preconception, renal, foot, young adult, diabetes technology andDAFNE. The vacancy would suit a band 5 nurse with diabetes experience or anexisting band 6 diabetes nurse who would like more involvement with specialistwork. You will need excellent clinical, organisational, IT and communicationskills and be willing to be involved in the development of the DiabetesService. Ourservice provides a 7 day a week diabetes specialist nursing cover acrossLTHT. The jobholder would be expected to work flexibly with colleagues toprovide this cover on a rotational basis.
