Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Support
o Assist in the operation of production machinery and equipment.
o Help in assembling, manufacturing, or packaging products according to company specifications.
o Monitor and report any equipment malfunction or production issues to the supervisor.
2. Material Handling
o Transport raw materials to the production line and move finished products to designated areas.
o Load and unload materials from vehicles, either manually or using appropriate handling equipment.
o Organise and store raw materials and finished products in the appropriate storage areas.
3. Quality Control
o Conduct basic checks on products to ensure they meet quality standards.
o Identify and separate defective items and report issues to the quality control department or supervisor.
o Assist in maintaining records of quality checks and product specifications.
4. Assembly and Packaging
o Assemble product components or prepare products for final assembly.
o Pack finished products securely, labeling and organizing them for shipment or storage.
o Ensure that all packaging is done in line with company guidelines to prevent damage during transit.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
o Maintain a clean and organized factory environment, disposing of waste materials correctly.
o Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance tasks on production equipment and the factory floor.
o Ensure that tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored after use.
6. Inventory Management
o Monitor and keep track of production materials and notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
o Assist with inventory checks and help maintain accurate stock records.
7. Health & Safety Compliance
o Adhere to all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
o Participate in safety training and assist in promoting a safe working environment.
o Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
8. General Assistance
o Support factory staff in various tasks as needed to maintain productivity.
o Assist in setting up production lines or changing configurations for different manufacturing needs.
o Help with minor repairs or adjustments under the guidance of technical staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience in a factory or production environment is an advantage.
* Ability to operate basic machinery and equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
* Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, as needed.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Willingness to work flexible shifts, including overtime when required.
Working Conditions:
* Factory Assistants often work in industrial environments, which may be noisy, warm, or dusty.
* The role involves standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
* Safety protocols must be strictly followed to prevent accidents and injuries.
