Based in Norwich, to support the supervision, development and performance of the Billing & Collections Team operating in CNA Branches, managing the aligned Company and Reinsurance premium on behalf of the associated Underwriting Company. A detailed knowledge of insurance and reinsurance credit control along with strong communication skills will be required to deliver the best possible premium collection income and management of our exceptions and bad debt exposure. Good leadership, communication and work flow skills are an essential requirement. Key Responsibilities Responsible for (“leading billings & collections activities for CICE ‘North’ “)… Work with the Finance Director and Financial Operations Director to ensure that Credit Control procedures are compliant and align with Head Office requirements. Balance role activity between the support, coaching and development of Team Members and responsibility for own debtor portfolio. Support actions around exception management and premium collection and follow up with the Team and brokers for settlement within terms and escalation where appropriate. Communicate with Brokers by email, telephone and where appropriate arrange face to face meetings to resolve queries and reduce aged debt. Be an advocate and instigator of efficient query management, working both within the Team and other CNA Stakeholders to identify exception trends and reduce instances of error in the booking process. Support delivery of existing and new Management/Operational reporting. Regularly review Broker Account allocations to Credit Controllers ensuring equitable allocation and ensuring alignment following any mergers or sales. Input, development and initiation of new/adjusted credit control activity/connected business activities to improve financial return and provision of service to Brokers, Vendors and insured’s. A reference point, both for the Norwich team and other areas of the Business. Support/Responsibility for Vendor relationships and related business processes. May perform other duties as required. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Strong knowledge and understanding of credit control, debt management, exception management. Good understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industry and the connectivity of the business functions involved in delivery. Excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills are required. Continental language skills would be an advantage but are not essential to the role. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks. The ability to analyse issues (specific and general) to support appropriate actions and outcomes. Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and other business related software. Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the collection and settlement of insurance premium in our operative markets. Leadership/coaching experience within the Insurance or Broker markets is desired but can be demonstrated through previous performance and example. Credit Management, Accounting or Insurance specific qualifications would be an advantage.
