Deputy Security Manager
Vigilant Security are extremely proud to be the Security provider for the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC).
The EICC is the 5-star Events and Conference centre situated in the Heart of Edinburgh City Centre.
Job Purpose: Vigilant Security are seeking a professional Deputy Security Manager to join our team. The successful candidate must be both SIA/ CCTV licensed and will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day security requirements and will maintain the highest standards of professionalism at all times. This is a full-time event driven role, working 45 Hours per week, which will usually be 5 days out of 7 however this will be dependent on events. We offer a competitive salary of £33,285.59 per annum and you will be entitled to 28 days holiday per annum, including bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the Event Security Officers ensuring all events have adequate Security coverage.
2. Manage the core team who are responsible for the 24-hour CCTV monitoring of the site, ensuring that all security processes are adhered to.
3. Manage the Loading Bay staff.
4. Understand and adhere to the strategic direction of the client.
5. Manage ongoing training to your security teams and ensure all new security officers are fully trained and inducted to the site procedures and policies including CCTV, access control systems.
6. Monitor the CCTV, fire, and security systems.
7. Ability to work using your own initiative and manage team members where required.
8. Staff resourcing and HR management, including recruitment, training, disciplinary and welfare issues.
9. Ensure CCTV systems are utilised; the code of practice and processes are observed, and the Data Protection Act 2018 is followed to ensure electronic patrols are effective and system use is optimised.
10. Ensure that all incidents are managed and responded to.
11. Ensure that the site remains safe and secure at all times.
12. Ensure that all incidents are reported and responded to correctly and incident reports completed where required.
13. Provide a consistent professional service at all times.
14. Maintain a high security awareness at all times.
15. Ensure no unauthorised persons allowed within prohibited areas including Control Room.
16. Proficient use of relevant communications equipment will require candidate to have good communication skills.
17. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office.
18. Experience in editing SOP's.
19. Ensure all H&S policies are adhered to.

3. Previous experience in a supervisor/management position.
4. Ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary.
5. Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
7. Immaculate presentation.
8. Clear, concise and confident communication skills.
9. Maintain and practice a high degree of confidentiality at all times.
10. Computer literate and good communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. Able to be vetted back 5 years or since leaving compulsory education.
12. Provide support to the wider team when required.

15. Carry out any other reasonable request as requested by management.
