Job Title: Mechanical Biased Maintenance Engineer Sector: Food Manufacturing Location: Attleborough, Norfolk – Non Meat Working hours: Monday to Friday Salary: Negotiable, Dependent on Experience We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the production machinery and equipment run smoothly, minimising downtime, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. You'll take a hands-on approach to keep everything running efficiently, from regular maintenance to implementing improvements across the facility. You will also work closely with external contractors when needed. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and repair production machinery and supporting equipment to ensure maximum performance and minimal downtime. Monitor and improve facility operations, ensuring safety and product quality standards are met. Act as the go-to person for all site maintenance issues, including machinery repairs, facility management, and general upkeep. Handle a wide range of tasks, from designing and automating production processes to fixing things like blocked drains or repairing site damage (roads, roofs, panels, doors, windows, etc.) Keep maintenance schedules up to date, making sure all planned checks and servicing follow food safety, health and safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. Skills & Experience Required: Strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering. Experience with plumbing, drainage, civil work, and refrigeration systems. Knowledge of cold storage, ducting, and air handling systems. Ability to troubleshoot and fix a variety of issues, from production processes to building maintenance. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
