An award-winning Manchester based construction firm is looking to hire an articulate and detail-oriented professional to join their team in the role of Health And Safety Manager.

The role will cover a wide range of disciplines, and supported by a well-structured & experienced team you will be responsible for:
Job Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage information systems to ensure building safety and maintain accurate records.
2. Provide guidance and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including fire, legionella, asbestos, electrical, and gas standards.
3. Conduct regular audits and inspections as part of a structured program.
4. Identify building hazards and implement necessary corrective actions.
5. Communicate effectively with residents about building safety.
6. Foster a culture of health, safety, and well-being within the organization.
7. Coordinate and evaluate disaster recovery drills.
8. Ensure proper reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
9. Perform root cause analysis for incidents.
10. Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
11. Advise employees and senior management on health, safety, and environmental issues.
12. Organize site safety and environmental audits and ensure implementation of corrective measures.
13. Assist in investigating incidents and accidents.
14. Assess the environmental impact of operations and recommend improvements.
15. Proactively seek enhancements in health, safety, and environmental performance.
16. Support initiatives to boost health, safety, and environmental standards in projects and offices.
17. Maintain regular communication with project teams and office managers regarding SHE matters.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
1. Experience in the UK Construction and Property sectors.
2. Expertise in High-Risk Buildings (HRBs) in the UK Construction Industry.
3. Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022.
4. Passionate about health and safety improvement with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
5. Excellent communicator with a pragmatic, positive attitude.
6. Self-motivated with strong accountability and result-oriented approach.
7. Proficient in data logging, numerical analysis, and IT.
8. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
9. Experienced in conducting compliance inspections and audits.
10. Willingness to travel regularly to offices and buildings within the portfolio.
11. Full clean UK driving license.
12. Ability to conduct thorough building inspections and audits.
13. Willingness to travel to Newcastle and other cities as needed.
14. Membership in a relevant organization (IOSH / IIRSM).
15. Relevant CSCS Card.
16. Ability to work accurately under pressure and tight deadlines.
17. NEBOSH Health & Safety Certification.
18. Relevant Fire Safety qualification accredited by IFE or IFSM, or equivalent.
