NHS Lanarkshire - GP Cancer Lead
Salary - Salaried GP (£74,192 - £110,737) (pro rata)
This is an exciting time to become involved in shaping Health and Social Care, and we are looking for a GP with an interest in developing and influencing cancer care in Lanarkshire and across Scotland. The Scottish National Cancer Guidelines are being refreshed, and this is an opportunity for you to be involved in the implementation of these within Lanarkshire, designing local solutions for these and other cancer-related issues between primary and secondary care.
You will co-chair a well-established cancer interface group which has recently been involved in exciting innovations such as the successful implementation of the Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service; a pathway for the investigation of suspected brain tumours; toolkits for screening and other QI resources for Clusters and practices; and provision of education for healthcare professionals within Primary Care. You will also be a member of the national Scottish Primary Care Cancer Group and West of Scotland Cancer Network, with the opportunity to work with peers in other Health Boards to influence national cancer policy.
If you have an interest in this area and are enthusiastic about bringing GP expertise across systems to support excellent care delivery, we are interested in hearing from you.
