As the Site Services Technician, you will join an established Engineering support team within our top tier COMAH site, this role requires an experienced Industrial Mechanically biased Services/facilities technician who is able to demonstrate and execute a wide range of practical Mechanical skills, ranging from basic workshop skills including fabrication of pipework, steelwork, and plastics to working out on plant in a methodical & logical manner such that reactive faults can be identified and repaired safely.
Reporting directly to the Site services Co-ordinator, this is a wide-ranging role which experience in Chemicals or large manufacturing would be advantageous, alongside a willingness to question and learn will be essential. This will involve good communication, often across multiple disciplines to deliver customer requirements efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and take a positive, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to delivering to tight deadlines.

Your responsibilities:
1. Safety should always be the highest priority for any tasks undertaken, in conjunction with our life saving policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge and experience of site services, Gas, Compressed air, Steam, cooling water and how to deenergise and work on safely.
3. Knowledge and use of technical drawings & operator manuals alongside Mechanical exploded view/cross sectional drawings & P&ID’s to aid fault diagnosis process.
4. Reduce Plant downtime by proposing/implementing improvements.
5. Contribute to improving the site performance in all aspects of safe operation, regulatory compliance, productive output, and cost efficiency by improving the engineering reliability of site equipment and ensuring appropriate maintenance frequency of assets is complied with.
6. Keep accurate written records of work carried out using SAP CMMS system.
7. Work alongside the Site services co-ord, compliance & technical author to support the technical review of written maintenance documents and operational procedures.
8. Help co-ordinate and manage contracted works and third party works across site.
9. Experienced with RAMS and Safe systems of works (Permits)
Requirements for the role:
Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.
10. An industrial Mechanical -based qualification to HNC/ONC level or equivalent .
11. Previous Manufacturing/Chemical industry experience.
12. Experience of structured problem-solving techniques, fault diagnosis.
13. Ability to read and comprehend Mechanical Schematics & OEM Manuals, P&ID’s .
14. Experience in services and facilities plant and equipment.
15. Mechanical experience in a manufacturing / chemical industry within a maintenance function.
16. Experience in site services, cooling water, natural gas, compressed air, steam etc.
