The leading consultancy firm is looking for a skilled Linux Engineer to join the team for an initial 6-month contract, with a strong potential for extension beyond 12 months. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days per week required onsite in Wokingham.

Responsibilities:
1. Utilise Linux system administration tools and processes to ensure system stability, security, and performance.
2. Manage disk partitions using LVM, RAID configuration, and handle hardware replacements when necessary.
3. Build and manage RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) V6/7/8/9 environments.
4. Manage and maintain VMWare v7 virtualised environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
5. Perform RedHat OS migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.
6. Configure new Linux systems and integrate them into a distributed environment using VMWare hosts.
Skills/Must have:
1. Strong experience with Linux system administration, including RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) V6/7/8/9, OS migrations, upgrades, and system customisation.
2. Proven track record in VMWare v7 management, setting up distributed environments, and administering LVM, RAID configurations, and hardware replacements.
3. Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, security tools configuration, endpoint deployment, and patching using YUM and Ansible.
4. Solid understanding of network protocols and topologies, system monitoring, and performance optimisation of CPU, memory, network, and disk utilisation.
5. Skilled in root cause analysis, incident resolution, and customer-facing IT support within a service-driven environment.
