Job summary
There is an exciting new opportunity for a Dental Nurse to work with the Mobile Dental Unit team based in Brecon. The post is Band 4, Part time, 15 hours per week. The postholder will be expected to provide a comprehensive, high-quality care to a wide spectrum of patients across Powys within the Community Dental Service clinics, including mobile dental clinics and/or external sites such as Schools and Nursing homes as required. Dental Nurses will be provided with a base clinic/department when appointed and will be expected to work flexibly across different sites where dental treatment is provided.
The postholder will be expected to establish strong links and effective working relations with the whole Dental team as well as patient, parents, guardians, education providers, day centres for Adults/Children with special needs, social services, other Dental services, GDP's, Hospitals, Medical practitioners and Dental material suppliers.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of the Dental team, preparing and monitoring patients for and during their treatment, providing pre and post-operative instructions.
Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment to provide a high standard of care for patients.
This rewarding role requires working autonomously when anticipating instruments required during procedures carried out by the clinician, mixing materials, and holding instruments in position.

1. National certificate for DN's or equivalent
2. Registered with GDC
3. Evidence of continued professional development

4. Post basic certificate in any of the following Sedation, SC, Radiography, Oral Health, Orthodontics
