We have the opportunity for a Smoking Cessation officer to join our established Health and Wellbeing Team, working with individuals to provide behaviour change intervention to help them quit smoking. You will help to develop and establish pathways for people who would like to quit smoking. There will be a focus on supporting people who are on a respiratory health pathway which includes targeted lung checks in addition to people experiencing levels of deprivation due to income deprivation, barriers to housing and services and who are affected by issues relating to mental health, homelessness and substance misuse. You will provide: One to one and group work with a focus on behaviour change Provide access to aids and NRT to aid quitting. Deliver a rolling 12-week program of support for those wanting to quit. Within the role, you will need to able to adopt a behaviour change approach and have the personal skills to build trusting and authentic relationships with individuals in our community. You will work in a non-directive style, help people to stop smoking and motivate them to make positive changes, whilst also understanding and reducing any barriers to change. Work alongside people to reduce health inequalities by understanding inequality and identify ways in which they can address and sustain changes into the future.
