We have a great opportunity to join the Business Support Team at Perth Grammar School as a Senior Technician.
As a Senior Technician you will be responsible for the preparation of resources and maintenance of equipment. You will participate in ensuring Health & Safety regulations are being adhered to across the school.
In this role, you will:
1. Line manage the Technician and General Assistant.
2. Adhere to the Council’s Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
3. Conduct and review risk assessments in collaboration with Principal Teachers.
4. Support all practical faculties with resource management. This will include chemical management and equipment maintenance in Science, cutting and preparing materials (timber, metals and plastics) in Technologies and food handling in Home Economics.
5. Provide technical advice to colleagues.
6. Support the Council's IT team with device asset management.
7. Support, when required, classes and local primary schools with practical lessons.
8. As part of this role, you will be working with learners and colleagues every day.
You will have the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training and your continuous development will be encouraged and supported throughout your career with Perth & Kinross Council.
The working days for this role are Monday – Friday with a recommended working pattern of 8:00am to 3:45pm.

You will work well within a team environment but also be able to work well on your own initiative, have good verbal communication skills and be willing to participate in any training relevant to role.
It would be desirable if you:
9. Have knowledge and experience of working within a science/technical environment.
10. Hold either an SVQ Level 3 or SCQF Level 6 in a science or equivalent qualification.
11. Be familiar with COSHH regulations and with the safe handling of chemicals.
You must be adaptable and willing to be involved in school community life and have core values of pride, respect, and ambition.
