Lab Coordinator
Location: Stroud
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Role Purpose:
As a Lab Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring that finished drinks meet quality standards while managing the onsite laboratory and driving continuous improvements in hygiene across the plant. Acting as a deputy to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will also uphold high compliance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Foster a robust Health & Safety culture within the Quality department.
2. Collaborate with team leaders and site management to mitigate risks.
3. Exhibit zero tolerance for Health & Safety violations through exemplary conduct.
4. Serve as a compliance role model, addressing risks to Food Safety or Product Quality.
5. Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP standards, and maintain accurate quality records.
6. Promote an “Always Audit Ready” culture through diligent compliance and documentation.
7. Lead site-wide hygiene improvements and monitor microbiological standards.
8. Oversee product release and manage customer/consumer complaint resolutions.
9. Manage laboratory operations, liaise with third parties, and oversee external audits.
10. Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Experience Required:
1. Degree in Food Science or Microbiology (or equivalent).
2. Strong understanding of microbiology and contamination risks.
3. Knowledge of effective cleaning methods for microbiological control.
4. Experience with SOPs, document control, and microbiological/chemical testing.
5. Familiarity with drinks manufacturing operations is advantageous.
