About River Edge Behavioral Health
Serving more than 10,000 Georgians, River Edge continues to be one of the state's leading resources for mental health, substance use disorder treatments and supports as well as individuals with intellectual and development disabilities. River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent IDD/BH diagnoses. These individuals are facing psychiatric challenges and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that are impacting their essential functions, potentially jeopardizing their ability to stay in their usual home environment.

Location/Schedule: 750 Hazel Street, Macon Georgia Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Responsibilities:
* Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs, strengths, and risk factors.
* Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and multidisciplinary team members.
* Providing crisis intervention services to clients in acute distress or experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
* Offering individual and group therapy sessions to help clients cope with their symptoms and improve their overall well-being.
* Coordinating and facilitating referrals to community resources; outreach, linkage to housing, aftercare, and other resources as needed.
* Advocating for clients' rights and liaising with external agencies to ensure continuity of care.
* Documenting all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
* Participating in regular case conferences and team meetings to discuss clients' progress, barriers to treatment, and clinical recommendations.
* Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff in the crisis facility.
* Address any personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies relevant to crisis services.
* Providing support and guidance to clients' families and caregivers to enhance their involvement in the treatment process.
* Staying up to date on best practices, research trends, and evidence-based interventions in the field of mental health and crisis intervention.
* Collaborating with psychiatrists, nurses, behavioral analysts, and other professionals to provide holistic and multidisciplinary care to clients.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
* Current Georgia license to practice as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) or licensed professional counselor (LPC).
* Master’s degree in social work, counseling, human services, or related field.
* At least 2 years working in a behavioral health/intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or related field.
* Must have good computer skills.
* Communication skills and the ability to foster good relationships among others is a plus.
* Preferred IDD experience.
