Management Accountant
Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (9:30am-5:30pm)
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a collaborative and well-established organisation. This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for a detail-focused and motivated finance professional who enjoys both routine and strategic work.
As part of a high-performing finance team, the Management Accountant will support monthly and annual reporting processes, business partnering, and financial planning activities across the organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing key reports, and contributing to effective financial operations. You will work closely with stakeholders across departments to provide insight and ensure robust financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and board reports
* Creating and presenting monthly finance packs for operational leaders
* Prepare statutory accounts, annual budgets, and reforecasts
* Perform variance analysis and board-level performance reporting
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support ledger accuracy
* Partner with department heads to provide finance support and insight
* Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required
* Authorise bank payments in the absence of treasury staff
Who We're Looking For:
* Part-qualified, fully qualified, or qualified by experience
* Proven experience in account preparation and strong understanding of financial controls
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
* Strong communicator, able to explain financials to non-finance stakeholders
* Able to work efficiently under pressure and juggle competing priorities
* Experience in a professional or legal services environment is desirable but not essential
