The U.S. Mission in the UK is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Management Administrative Assistant based at the U.S. Consulate General, Edinburgh.
The incumbent has responsibility for a wide range of management-related duties at the Consulate, supporting four main responsibilities which include:
* providing a wide range of General Services Office (GSO) functions and work with London colleagues to ensure logistical and operational tempo is maintained such as maintaining contracts with local service providers; conducting real estate market research; overseeing post inventory and managing the loanable expendable property portfolio; coordinating on all customs in-bound and out-bound shipments arranged for post; managing all aspects of the Consulate's Motorpool operations (vehicle maintenance, usage and fuel record-keeping, disposal, and replacement as well as acting as Motorpool supervisor and dispatcher); and maintaining the e-Country Clearance (eCC) system for the Consulate, processing all eCC requests for official USG visitors to Scotland.
* liaising with Embassy London's Diplomatic Technology Officer (DTO) to coordinate the security and survivability of USG telecommunications for Post.
* maintaining the consulate facilities and residential housing pool for both regular maintenance and oversee upgrades.
* ensuring vouchers and payments are processed in a timely manner within the USSS global standard and folding in the US Embassy Financial Management Section for routine and complex procurements and payments for local Scottish vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION:
At least two years of full-time, post-secondary study in a college or university.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative role within a business or government office, including two years of project management experience.
LANGUAGE:
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English ( this may be tested ).
