Our client, a leading specialist manufacturer, is seeking a skilled, fluent French speaking Business Development Manager, Export to drive sales growth and maintain effective relationships with customers across international markets. As the BDM, Export, you will play a crucial role in achieving the company’s sales and marketing objectives by implementing strategic plans, managing customer relationships, and identifying new opportunities in international markets.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement agreed marketing plans, exhibition visits, training, and monitor results to achieve sales and marketing objectives.
2. Maintain effective relationships with customers, including distributors, OEMs, and end-users, understanding their needs and anticipating sales and marketing opportunities.
3. Prepare strategic and annual sales and marketing plans, including sales revenue and expenditure, and seek approval from the BDM Team Leader (Export).
4. Provide the BDM Team Leader (Export) with sales budgets and monthly reports to monitor sales and business activities, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for nominated geographical areas.
5. Identify and manage threats and opportunities to the export business, acting proactively and relevantly.
Requirements:
1. Degree qualification in business management or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
2. Mechanical inclined technical competence/experience.
3. Experience in sales and business development in international markets, preferably in food and/or manufacturing sectors.
4. Fluency in English and French (additional languages would be an advantage).
5. Excellent communication and business acumen.
6. Active relationship management with all stakeholders and customers.
7. Ability to prioritise under pressure and act calmly.
8. Good presentation skills.
9. Understanding of social and cultural diversity of markets and customers.
10. B2B sales/business development experience in EMEA and APAC preferred.
11. Available for international travel up to 40% of the time and the ability to work from their Head Office in Sittingbourne 2 days per week.
