Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Football/Sports Coach to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and a commitment to supporting and delivering sessions to young adults with SEN.
Role Overview: As an Inclusive Sports Coach, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our sports and social sessions. Your enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and friendly demeanor will contribute to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for our participants.
The primary role is working as part of a team of FA qualified coaches, mostly female coaches, to run fun, inclusive sessions adapted to the needs of the individuals who attend.
Schedule:
1. Monday - Outside sessions on Astro along with indoor activities such as snooker and table tennis at Grove Hill Adventure Playground in Hemel Hempstead.
2. Tuesday - Wellbeing sessions which are Pilates and Yoga inspired classes for young adults with learning disabilities at the Dacorum Active Hub, Grove Hill Adventure Playground, Hemel Hempstead.
3. Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings - Futsal sessions at Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hatfield.
We are also increasing our offerings across Herts over the next few months.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coach: Work alongside our dedicated coach staff to support the delivery of the inclusive sports and social sessions.
2. Participant Engagement: Engage with young adults with learning disabilities, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience during both indoor and outdoor activities.
3. Activity Support: Assist with a variety of activities, including football, pool, table tennis, and other multi-sports and games promoting active participation and enjoyment in a safe environment.
4. Supportive Presence: Be an approachable and positive presence, fostering a sense of belonging for all participants.
Requirements:
1. Minimum FA Introduction to Football or coaching qualification required.
2. Willing to undertake relevant training in disability sport – provided by Inclusive United and relevant FA/coaching courses.
3. Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
4. Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
5. Approachable and friendly.
6. Ability to engage and communicate effectively with individuals with learning disabilities.
