Our client manufacture high-quality, long-lasting construction products/materials. They are part of a large group based near Southampton. Due to increasing demand for their products they are looking to add to their maintenance team.\n\nJob Description\n\nThe successful applicant will be working in our Maintenance department, supporting the Maintenance Manager in the continuous improvement of all factory areas such as Health & Safety, production output, efficiency, productivity, and environmental impacts.
The role itself involves management of all day and afternoon maintenance activities, stores stock accountability, carrying out PPM, workshop, and stores housekeeping, ensuring downtime is minimized and company standards are complied with.\n\nAn awareness of health and safety must be demonstrated in the workplace at all times.\n\nThe key job duties and responsibilities are as follows:\n\n· Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager whilst being integrated into a team of fully skilled engineers.\n\n· Report to breakdowns, including Electrical failures as a priority to ensure plant uptime is kept at a premium ensuring that all production targets are maintained.\n\n· Assist in the analysis of breakdowns to establish route courses and implementing of corrective action.\n\n· Contributing towards PPM system ensuring proactive checks being completed on time.\n\n· Overhauling, Manufacturing, repairing, and refurbishing of parts and equipment in the onsite maintenance workshop outside of breakdowns & PPMs.\n\n· Fulfil parts requisitions on the completion of work to ensure stock levels are retained, hence minimizing downtime.\n\n· Assist with ongoing project work e.g., new equipment installation/ factory improvements.\n\n· Liaise with fellow colleagues on different shift patterns handing over work and reporting any issues.\n\n· Undertake any reasonable requests for training, either internally or externally, in order to improve performance and capabilities.\n\n· Maintain high levels of compliance with health and safety standards whilst performing duties.\n\n· Flexibility to occasionally work outside of shift pattern when cover is required.\n\n· Follow the company Lock Off Tag Out Try Out procedure at all times.\n\n· Complete all day shift work instructions and fill in report book accordingly.\n\n· Assist with the compiling of Risk Assessments & SPTW and adhere to all active procedures.\n\n· Monitor & supply electrical support of machine set-up & changeovers to ensure that products conform to quality assurance standards, whilst ensuring changeovers are as efficient as possible.\n\n· Provide Maintenance shift cover when required.\n\n· Carry company radio at all times to ensure quick response to breakdowns.\n\n· Undertake any reasonable request made during working hours.\n\nTo be successful in the role, the right candidate must satisfy the following requirements:\n\nFormal qualifications within both mechanical & electrical engineering (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds (18th Edition), BTEC or similar).\n\nSolid work history & experience working in an electrical position required for this role.\n\nExperience servicing/repairing components.\n\nExperience with working with 3 phase electrical equipment including motor’s & starter’s\n\nAbility to read and understand technical drawings.\n\nPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage to the successful applicant\n\nDesirable personal attributes:\n\n· Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing workload.\n\n· Good problem solver with a keen eye for detail.\n\n· Excellent interpersonal communication skills.\n\n· PLC Experience (Siemens)\n\n· Values honesty, integrity, and professional ethics in the workplace working hours and when on Annual Leave.\n\n· Commitment to health and safety.\n\n· Works well within a team.\n\nSalary up to £45000 per year dependent on experience, with additional monthly production bonus paid dependent on production targets being met.\n\nOpportunities & Benefits:\n\nCompany Pension contributions\n\n24 days holiday per year plus 8 statutory\n\nLife Assurance\n\nEmployee Assistance Programme\n\nOpportunities for employer funded training\n\nFurther benefits (such as Wider Wallet discounts, Cycle to Work schemes and more) available upon successful completion of probation\n\nOther information applicable to the role\n\nShift work on weekly changeover 06:00 -14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00 Monday - Friday\n\nHolidays are not fixed.
