Role: Lecturer / Trainee Lecturer - Maths
Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus / Gas & Plumbing Technology Centre
Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum for qualified Lecturers and £25,750 per annum for unqualified Lecturers (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications plus a £3,000 Market Supplement is available, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer or Trainee Lecturer in Maths to join our Maths and English department at The Bedford College Group .
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Overall Responsibilities - Prepare, deliver, and assess Mathematics; Support and guide students; Manage students' learning; Contribute to curriculum development; Participate in marketing and promotion activities.
2. Main Duties - Teach effectively on various programmes; Prepare up-to-date schemes of work; Develop and implement new learning materials; Assess students' work; Monitor and record students' progress.
3. Additional Duties - Lead curriculum development; Provide student support; Mentor new teaching staff; Work with Advanced Practitioners.
4. Statutory Duties - Promote and safeguard welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults; Promote equality and diversity; Follow health and safety requirements; Participate in training and development.
5. Administrative Tasks - Complete administrative tasks accurately; Participate in course team meetings; Implement quality processes; Interview potential students; Contribute to curriculum development.
About you:
6. Qualifications - Relevant degree or Level 5 in Mathematics; Certificate in Education/PGCE or willingness to achieve; GCSE Maths and English (grades A-C).
7. Experience - Teaching and assessing GCSE Mathematics; Working with diverse backgrounds; High performance in previous roles; Achieving team objectives and deadlines.
8. Skills - Excellent classroom management; Organisational skills; Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; Effective communication face to face, on the telephone, and in writing.
9. Commitment - Promote and safeguard welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults; Promote equality and diversity; Continuous skills and knowledge update; Flexible approach to work and working times.
10. Additional Requirements - Use Microsoft Office confidently; Complete administrative tasks accurately; Current driving licence and access to a vehicle; Willingness to work at all Bedford College locations.
