The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Team Leader for our client based in Salfords, Crawley. This is a permanent position.
Job Title: Pick and Despatch Team Leader
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM – 9:30 PM (subject to change, potentially extending later).
Salary: £32,000 – £33,900 per annum
Job Purpose:
* To lead the pick and despatch team in achieving accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfilment.
* The role ensures inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service, supporting the company’s goals of customer satisfaction and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of pickers and despatch personnel. Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews to drive individual and team improvements.
* Order Fulfilment: Oversee the picking and dispatch operations to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Monitor daily targets and resolve issues promptly to maintain performance standards.
* Operational KPIs: Track key performance indicators such as error rates, productivity, and on-time despatch rates. Implement corrective measures for underperformance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to health and safety regulations, creating a safe working environment. Address potential hazards immediately to prevent accidents.
* Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance team skills and competency levels. Foster a culture of learning and improvement within the team.
* Process Improvements: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline operations and reduce errors.
* Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock handling and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Customer Care, Inventory, and Purchasing, to optimise operations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Leadership experience (2-3 years in a supervisory role).
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes.
* Commitment to health and safety protocols.
* Ability to lead, train, and develop teams effectively. Desirable Skills:
* Certifications in leadership or warehouse operations.
* Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and cost management.
