Cardiff
Rolls-Royce is seeking a highly skilled Performance Engineer to join our innovative team working on advanced submarine systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing propulsion systems, enhancing hydrodynamic performance, and integrating cutting-edge sonar and acoustic technologies. A strong background in systems integration, materials science, and environmental impact assessment is essential.
Why Rolls-Royce?
Our Submarines business is currently expanding and opening a new office based in Cardiff, in which we are looking for Engineers across multiple engineering disciplines. As we continue to support the Royal Navy as the technical authority to the UK Ministry of Defence for naval reactor plants, we’re also growing our submarine and nuclear sector capabilities. What You Will Be Doing
You will be setting policy and expectations for requirements management across various projects:
1. Good technical knowledge in nuclear and more general mechanical analysis methodologies and design codes, using thermo-hydraulic methods and tools, creating system definitions and component specifications to perform complex assessments and justification at an integrated nuclear power plant level or component level.
2. These assessments or justifications could be in support of capability acquisition, new product introduction, and in-service product support design solutions and shall be sufficiently robust to demonstrate the very high levels of reliability required by the nuclear industry.
3. Uses problem-solving techniques and understanding of engineering standards and methods to address complex engineering issues.
4. Supports development and delivery of nuclear-specific and broader technology and strategy and has a good appreciation of regulation within the nuclear industry.
