Your new role
Your new role as the Manufacturing Engineering and Operational Excellence Manager will see you at the forefront of driving operational excellence. You will lead a team to optimise production processes, enhance quality, and ensure cost-effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing technical leadership within a matrix environment.
2. Fostering the professional development of manufacturing engineers.
3. Overseeing plant maintenance.
4. Ensuring all production methods adhere to the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
5. Championing a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Spearheading the manufacturing engineering strategy and implementing innovative solutions to achieve best-in-class performance.
What you'll need to succeed
What you’ll need to succeed is the following:
1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related science, with a postgraduate qualification in manufacturing being highly desirable.
2. 7 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and at least 5 years in a management role.
3. A strong working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma problem-solving techniques.
4. Technical knowledge of volume manufacturing engineering practices.
5. The ability to work in a matrix environment and strong project management skills.
6. Critical thinking, decision-making capabilities, and in-depth knowledge of DFMEA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
7. Experience with New Product Introduction, reworking design changes, and upgrades through to production.
8. A proven strong focus on Health & Safety and Quality Assurance.
9. Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD and ERP systems.
