A rare opportunity to step up to Room Lead without the responsibility of the Room Manager role, but train towards. Ideal for an individual ready to take the next step in their Early Years career supported by a supportive and experienced Room Manager. We seek a productive individual who possesses leadership skills and a passion for early years education to be a part of our team. You will demonstrate collaborative partnership working, providing a child-centred, unique approach to your teaching and support of the child's development together with leading and supporting a team of Early Years practitioners.
The learning approach at the nursery consists of spontaneous learning experiences and exploration with higher engagement due to the child's independent interest supported by a skilled adult.
The role is within one of our under 2's rooms based at a nursery in Lawford. The position is full-time over a 50-week period. Your working week will be 38 hours, spread over a 4-day period. Hours will be between 7.30 am - 6 pm.
As a Room Lead, you must be a qualified and experienced Early Years Practitioner (at least Level 3+). You will be required to:
1. Work within the aims and ethos of the organisation's policies and procedures and Learning Approach.
2. Ensure safeguarding is upheld at all times in conjunction with current legislations and frameworks.
3. Support the Room Manager with a team of staff (and students in training) to maintain a proactive and professional team.
4. Ensure all daily routines are adhered to and records kept up to date in collaboration with the nursery management team.
5. Support children to communicate their thoughts, ideas, and needs and ensure they are listened to.
6. Support children in taking opportunities for learning in their own unique way.
7. Provide a stimulating environment, both inside and out.
8. Ensure the learning zone space and resources are effective by reflecting upon their use.
9. Effectively monitor, record, and report the children's development.
10. Frequently and regularly provide feedback to parents/carers, formally and informally.
11. Involve parents/carers and the child in every step of the child's development.
You will be required to have a good level of experience working in early years provision.
