Fox Construction Recruitment are looking for a competent and experienced Site Manager to join our client, a small but highly successful local construction company on a permanent basis, starting as soon as possible.
This role involves assisting with the management of various new build and refurbishment projects in and around the Bournemouth and Poole areas.
Job Benefits:
1. Salary: £50-60k on an employed basis, with an employment package including 28 days paid holiday per annum, or £260 per day on a self-employed basis.
2. Managing multiple sites, requiring regular local travel with a travel allowance provided.
Job Purpose:
To manage, support, and oversee site-based projects, ensuring they are executed correctly, on time, safely, and within budget, in line with processes and procedures. Manage site-based projects from start to finish.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and oversee project delivery, ensuring client specifications and requirements are met, regularly reviewing progress, and liaising with the Pre-Contracts and Project Finance teams regarding change orders and site costs.
2. Update project plans and communicate to all relevant parties.
3. Liaise with clients, other construction professionals, and stakeholders as required.
4. Coordinate and supervise construction workers on-site.
5. Manage and oversee the project on a daily basis.
6. Conduct site checks including health and safety, folders, site setup, etc.
7. Liaise with internal departments regarding project matters.
8. Regularly update the Line Manager with project progress and issues, implementing competent solutions to resolve them.
9. Manage site inductions and oversee health and safety, management, and maintenance of project folders.
10. Review RAMS and COSHH assessments.
11. Manage all subcontractors and trades on-site at all times.
12. Ensure live sites are set up correctly and meet brand guidelines.
13. Ensure live sites are kept clean and tidy at all times.
14. Manage the site workbook/Procore.
15. Snag and raise issues with works to ensure items are rectified and finished to the highest standard.
16. Arrange internal and external team meetings, client meetings, and subcontractor meetings, including producing agendas.
17. Lead meetings, take minutes, and issue them to all relevant parties.
18. Book subcontractors onto projects to meet the programme.
19. Review and provide feedback on drawings.
20. Update the programme of works on a weekly basis.
21. Manage programme design and management.
22. Instruct subcontractors and suppliers and issue small orders (i.e., skips, plant, welfare materials, H&S equipment, PPE).
Skills and Experience:
The following are essential:
1. 5+ years of experience in site working.
2. Broad property, building, or construction background.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
4. Able to design and manage a programme of works (ASTA Powerproject ideal).
5. Proven effective communication skills.
6. Excellent understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations.
7. Ability to read construction drawings.
8. Ability to understand and manage/update the workbook throughout the job.
9. Advanced working knowledge of M&E systems.
10. Experience in managing office relocations, refurbishments, and fit-outs, including IT infrastructure.
11. Able to work as part of a team.
12. Good track record of managing people across all levels.
13. Client-facing and driven to provide high standards of service.
14. Good understanding of health and safety and risk management policies and procedures.
15. Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
16. Confidence to meet with clients, subcontractors, and building managers.
17. Able and confident to manage a hectic and varied workload.
18. Proven contracts and tendering experience.
19. Good commercial acumen – legal knowledge and negotiating with multiple vendors. SMSTS trained.
20. First aid trained.
21. Asbestos Awareness.
22. Flexible approach to travelling and staying away from home on a regular basis.
23. Flexible approach to opening up and closing up sites.
24. Full clean driving licence.
25. NEBOSH Construction.
