The post holder will assist with the day-to-day administration of the Molecular Pathology department at the Maidstone site. Responsibilities include:
1. Printing email requests.
2. Entering tests on the Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
3. Sending results.
4. Completing spreadsheets for internal records.
5. Scanning request forms for electronic storage.
6. Printing and sorting patient histories and slide labels.
7. Answering and dealing with enquiries in person, via email, or telephone in a professional manner.
8. Communicating verbally, in writing, by telephone, fax, and email as required.
9. Taking and passing on messages for Molecular Pathology staff.
10. Receiving samples for testing, checking completeness of the request, and preparing for testing.
11. Bringing any discrepancies with patient request forms to the attention of the Office Coordinator according to laboratory protocols.
12. Assisting with sorting of post.
13. Receiving visitors to the department according to Local Safety Rules.
To comply with local and national policies for the safe, secure, and confidential processing and storage of patient and laboratory information. The post holder will use the Laboratory Information System (LIMS) according to the authorised protocols.
