About the School
This outstanding SEn school provides education and care for 200 students aged 3 - 19, offering a nurturing environment for children with a range of additional needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, learning needs and autism. The school is committed to helping every student reach their full potential through a personalised and supportive learning experience.
With multiple roles available within the primary cohort, placements will be tailored to suit your strengths, experience and expertise.
The Role:
As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting young learners, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will assist in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students, adapting to their individual needs
* Assist in implementing personalised learning strategies and interventions
* Help create a safe and engaging learning environment that fosters both academic and personal development
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other staff to support each student’s unique learning journey
* Encourage student independence and confidence through structured activities and guidance
About You:
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive individual with:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting
* A patient, enthusiastic and hands-on approach to supporting learning
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
* The ability to remain calm, adaptable and positive in challenging situations
* A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential)
