Description The Competence Specialist will support and assess our Competence Assurance Management systems and programmes and carry out assessments and verification of portfolios. You will assist with audit and other key tasks related to client and other 3rd party relationships as well as contributing to developing and retaining motivated and competent people. Responsibilities Responsibilities: Input into the continuous improvement of our competence assurance systems and processes Assist with competence assurance activities including audit Assure and support competency delivery within projects Manage, assess, and support site-based competency systems Delivery of and input into competence targets Carry out review, assessment, and verification of competence portfolios of evidence Support employees undertaking Assessor and Verifier qualifications Mentor and support employees undertaking periods of technical traineeship / apprenticeships Monitoring standards to ensure compliance with National, Client and Corporate standards Participate in reviews and development for their particular discipline Advise sites on competence and training issues ensuring consistency of approach Carry out Professional Competence Discussions Regularly review and update Competence portfolios to ensure validity Supervise the implementation of all competence frameworks on site Assist in the development of new country/region specific competence standards Carrying out competence assessments for personnel within discipline area of expertise Support the review and update of WOOD competence related procedures and processes Oversee the development of specific job descriptions linked to global technical role profiles Support / carry out occupational competence assessments Active Monitoring assurance (where we have a duty of care when our employees are working directly under our client’s management systems) Provide general advice and support as part of a multi-disciplinary team Provide effective and timely reports capturing and highlighting issues that may hinder progress Qualifications Qualifications: 9DI-A1 Assessor or D32/D33 L&D 11-V1 Verifier or working towards or D34 N/SVQ Experience: Understanding of the Competence & Skills Pool team and its role in Competency Management and compliance Demonstrable experience in a competence related role Job-Specific Skills: Working on own initiative Strong negotiator Excellent presentation and oral communication skills Good coaching and mentoring skills Attention to detail Problem solving Use of IT to develop efficient processes Prioritisation of workload to meet deadlines
