Lead and influence other cost managers within the team Working closely with the Reading leadership team to develop the business Manage clients and develop further opportunities Be part of business development forums such as Sector Groups Link into the cost management discipline across all Ridge offices Provide all pre & post contract Cost Management activities Provide advice on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed Advise architects and engineers on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials and size and quality of the project to ensure that each element is reconciled with the cost plan allowance and the overall project remains within budget Prepare tendering documents Manage the costs of projects during the both pre-contract and construction stage and negotiate final accounts Lead from the front as regards to client facing meetings, dealing with multi-disciplined teams and project delivery Grow the business on the back of new and repeat clients’ projects Manage projects from inception and feasibility through to completion, handover and in use To apply for this role you must possess / evidence: The ability to lead a series of projects and client relationships including business development High level of communication skills and commercial awareness Able to demonstrate relevant project experience Able to demonstrate experience of using NEC Contracts including operating different options and commercial models Able to demonstrate experience of using JCT Contracts A relevant degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) Ideally be MRICS (or equivalent) Chartered Proven experience of working in a commercially focused role Be enthusiastic and ambitious Proficient in the use of MS Office and particularly MS excel, word and Powerpoint
