Established in 1979, Kemtile has been trading for 40+ years and was acquired by Stonhard, part of the RPM Group in 2018 due to its established place in the UK market. Stonhard’s acquisition of Kemtile will enable the business to grow into new markets whilst staying established in the food and beverage industry.
As a result, an exciting & rewarding opportunity has arisen to join this reputable company as a highly motivated Account (Contracts) Manager who enjoys spending time in front of customers, managing projects, identifying opportunities, delivering excellent customer service, and developing Kemtile’s profile in the market.
The scope of the Account (Contracts) Manager is to run projects on time and profitability to ensure customer satisfaction, as well as building long lasting relationships through offering practical solutions and managing these accounts pro-actively.
Job role :
Contracts Management
* Manage and run projects on time and profitability.
* Understand the different environments Kemtile work in and manage the projects appropriately.
* Manage the procurement of all labour, plant and material on projects, minimising wastage and driving efficiency.
* Devising programmes to ensure projects meet deadlines, consistently reviewing and updating these to achieve positive outcomes.
* With the wider team, plan and manage labour to ensure the correct skill set is allocated to projects whilst understanding the wider departmental impact.
* Collaborate with the commercial team to manage changes and variations to ensure projects are run profitably.
* Consult with and negotiate with sub-contractors to ensure labour is allocated and best value is achieved.
* Pro-active communication with other stakeholders to ensure the best experience for customers.
* Drive the highest standards of project delivery to minimise snagging.
Account Management
* Develop ongoing relationships with clients, business owners, and contractors.
* Pro-actively manage accounts allocated to ensure customer needs are met and opportunities are capitalised upon.
* Develop and present project proposals.
* Understand customer technical requirements and specify the optimum solution.
* Create opportunities through networking, relationship building, and challenging work.
* Support Sales & Business Development team with projects that require more practical solutions.
Health & Safety
* Drive a culture of zero harm throughout the business.
* Write risk assessments & method statements for submittals along with COSHH assessments.
* Adhere to customer requirements depending on their needs and/or the environment.
* Ensure each project is assessed on its own merit and appropriate measures are put in place to remove or reduce risk to operatives.
* Understand hygienic requirements of customers when working in live environments.
* Complete all internal safety training as required and requested.
* Adhere to ISO 45001 processes, and complete project paperwork.
Administration
* Ensure customers are contacted at the earliest opportunity to enhance customer experience.
* Keep the Administrator up to date with project dates, delays, and changes so the business can manage labour appropriately.
* Submit detailed reports to estimating team for pricing.
* Work with other departments to understand project requirements and highlight gaps/opportunities.
* Ensure on-site staff are completing relevant paperwork for tracking progress.
* File all relevant communication and paperwork for robust project records and to support commercial claims.
* Ensure all costs and snagging are reported and communicated in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will have:
* A strong general construction background ideally with a specific knowledge of one of the following: Civils, Drainage, or Resin flooring.
* A relevant construction qualification or equivalent such as NVQ / Degree.
* Experience managing multiple projects and/or trades simultaneously, ranging from small to large i.e. > £2,500,000.
* Sales experience, this can be account management or customer-facing role where indirect selling was undertaken.
* Experience in project sales, offering a solution-based approach whilst selling the difference to clients.
* Able to work under pressure & in a fast-paced environment.
* Able to work independently but also dynamic enough to work as a team where appropriate and required.
