Job Title: Field of Play Assistant Accountable to: Senior Safety Stewards Contract: Casual Hours: Variable, confirmed a minimum of 10 days in advance. Hours will include evenings, weekends, and Public Holidays. Salary: £12.21 per hour Location: The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton and other nominated Club venues. Closing date: 31 January 2025 The Role We have opportunities for 10 Field of Play Assistants to join us and take a proactive role in delivering a safe and outstanding customer experience to all those attending events at The Cooper Associates County Ground and other nominated Club venues. In this new role with SCCC, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive approach to the highest standards of customer service and spectator safety. You’ll warmly welcome spectators on arrival as their first point of contact, through to delivering a fond farewell as spectators leave the venue. Your duties include directing authorised vehicles around the ground, operating the turnstiles and taking electronic payment for entry tickets, distributing promotional literature at the gate, and providing well informed wayfinding information. You will be committed to upholding Somerset County Cricket Club’s high standards and values, adhering to the Safety Team’s Code of Conduct and undertake all necessary training relating to the role. Amongst other things, you are punctual, approachable and a team-player who holds high standards of personal and professional integrity. You remain calm in pressurised situations and have a desire to learn from others. You'll need to be flexible and available to work unsociable hours over weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
