Hours per week: 8.00am to 10.00am morning call, Monday to Sunday. Evening call would be 8.30pm to 9.30pm Monday to Sunday.
Hourly pay rate: £12.21ph
I am looking for 2 or 3 personal assistants to support me in my own home in Hailsham.
I have 21 hours per week available and would like these to be hours to be used to support me with personal care. I am a fulltime wheelchair user. The personal care hours will be 21 per week starting with an 8.00am to 10.00am morning call, Monday to Sunday. I am bladder and bowel incontinent I have a catheter insitu and am supported by the district nurses with this. I need to be supported to get up, washed and dressed each morning. Shield would be an advantage but not essential, my skin integrity is very important, and any signs of breakdown needs to be actioned. Manuel handling experience is a must as I need to be hoisted from bed to wheelchair and shower etc.
Evening call would be 8.30pm to 9.30pm, to complete personal care, to get undressed and hoisted into bed.
I keep 1 floating hour to cover emergencies.
I also have 7 social hours which are covered. Ideally, I would like 2 or 3 PAs who can cover each other if someone is off. To be able to work together and set up a rota of care with me, that works for everyone.

Candidate qualities:

Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Creative
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

Experience with catheter care desirable but not essential.
Experience of wound care desirable but not essential.
Happy for you to attend when District Nurses are present to watch and understand catheter care.
Above all you must have a good sense of humour.
