An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Receptionist/Administration Officer within EPUT, based at Rochford Hospital. The role will require the successful applicant to cover various sites across our region in a reception capacity, as well as covering administrative services based within our Rochford Hub.
We are looking for someone with a positive and compassionate approach to supporting patient care. The role will include making and taking patient telephone calls. The successful candidates will be expected to work in the organisation, providing services in a professional, efficient, friendly and polite manner. You must be able to build effective working relationships, be approachable and accessible with a flexible approach to work. Main duties of the job
* Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls to the multi-disciplinary clinical staff and managers in a polite and efficient manner, receive and deal with telephone enquiries and respond appropriately to callers including high risk and vulnerable clients and carers.
* Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
* Record accurate messages and follow them up appropriately in accordance with department guidelines.
* Deal face-to-face with patients and families seeking further help/information and be aware of the needs of the clients.
* Exchange confidential and/or sensitive information between staff, patients, and carers in person or on the telephone. The unpredictability of patients means that persuasive, reassuring, empathic skills are required at all times.
* Provide administrative support - covering email inboxes, completing MDT minutes, preparing letters, and general administrative duties.

Person Specification
Experience in Administration
* Minimum 1 year experience
* IT experience
* NHS experience within administration/Customer service
Qualifications
* GCSE grade 4 or higher
* Proven knowledge/experience
