An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our vibrant learning community within Simpson Primary School and Nursery Class. The school is a non-denominational school serving the community of Wester Inch in Bathgate, West Lothian. The school accommodates 22 mainstream classes and a nursery class, with a current roll of 638 children in P1-P7 and 140 children in the nursery class.
The school works closely in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community, and it has a very active and effective Parent Council that enhances the experiences of the children and raises funds for a range of additional resources.
We are seeking a Pupil Support Worker to support children in accessing high-quality learning experiences in our Nursery Setting. The role is 20 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 9am - 2pm, with the setting open 50 weeks per year.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. The SSSC stipulates that you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with the SSSC, you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
