I am seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. The school is committed to enhancing the educational experiences and quality of life for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Role Overview : As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will be working directly with students who have complex learning needs, supporting their access to learning, physical activities, and daily living tasks. This is a vital role within our inclusive educational setting, where you will make a real difference to the lives of our students. Key Responsibilities : Support the class teacher in delivering a tailored curriculum to students with PMLD. Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks where necessary. Provide one-to-one or small group support to ensure students are engaged and supported in their learning. Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs). Encourage and motivate students to participate in learning and school activities. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering students' independence and well-being. Work closely with other teaching assistants, specialists, and parents to ensure the needs of the students are met effectively. Key Requirements : Previous experience working with students with PMLD or additional learning needs (preferred). A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with complex needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to be flexible and adaptable to meet the individual needs of each student. Experience with personal care (may be required depending on student needs). A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable, though not essential.
