An exciting opportunity has arisen within the friendly, supportive Physiotherapy Team at the West Cumberland Hospital (WCH) for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner. Candidates will also be considered who are willing to work towards the Assistant Practitioner qualification.
We are looking for someone who is an enthusiastic team player to join the team based in the WCH, predominantly working within the specialist area of Orthopaedics and frailty.
The right candidate will be expected to provide support and assistance to the registered physiotherapists. They will be responsible for managing a delegated caseload of patients, identified by the physiotherapist as being appropriate for the intervention of an Assistant Practitioner.
Main duties of the job
The service is part of a wider AHP service, with links to the team at the Cumberland Infirmary, as well as the wider health and social care settings across North Cumbria. This provides many professional development opportunities and there is a strong focus on integrated working.

Qualifications
* Assistant practitioner status/ Foundation Degree or the willingness and ability to undertake
* NVQ 3 in health / sports science or equivalent.
* Care Certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake
* GCSE English/Maths level 2 or equivalent.
* ECDL or equivalent Assistant Practitioner qualification
Experience
* Previous experience in health care settings
* Experience working with people where enabling and motivating skills are evident particularly with an older population
* Physiotherapy support staff role
* Exercising patients with chronic health conditions
Knowledge
* Understanding of orthopaedic conditions and their management.
* Professional codes of conduct.
