WGM Engineering have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Technician to join our Engineering solution division on a permanent basis covering various sites throughout the Central belt of Scotland. The Electrical Technician will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive sitework, including but not limited to removal, installation and commissioning of rotational equipment. Undertake fault diagnostics and fault rectification on a vast range of electrical equipment covering a wide range of asset age and condition with an overarching mandate of always working safely.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Work safe home safe mentality: Working to company Electrical safety Rules, Wiring regulations, best practice codes, RAMS and all other relevant documentation.
* Adopting a one team approach: Ensuring work is right first time, Supporting others within the business and ensuring a best in class approach to all work.
* Communication: Co-ordinating site activities by working closely with site teams, supporting office teams, supervisors and business units across WGM.
* Preparing status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
* Safe isolation, Installation, removal and maintenance of rotating equipment and other three phase equipment.
* Commissioning and testing of installed equipment and completion of required test certification on Napit software.
* Co-ordinating electrical and other mixed trades on site ensuring safe working and job delivery.
* Provide job reports and condition, identifying correct method of rectifying faults.
* Identification of possible future work based off jobs we are carrying out.
* Co-ordinating site activities through close co-operation with the office team and electrical supervisor.
* Ability to scope electrical tasks across a wide range of differing applications and equipment types.
* High level of troubleshooting capability relating to low and medium voltage equipment.
* Working knowledge of VSD drives.
* Able to commission a range of electrical apparatus.
* Write technical reports and compile job documentation.
* Able to support the job planning process with detailed technical information on equipment, tooling and electrical materials.
* Support the work delivery programme with knowledge of best practice.
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience electrical experience ideally within an engineering background, the ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and the ability to work as part of team as well and on your own initiative. Relevant electrical qualification or HND is required for the role as well as being qualified to 18th edition wiring regulations. A valid uk license is essential for this role.
