Location: Coventry
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM to 2.30 PM
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Pay: £34000 - £38000 OTE £45,000

The client is a leading precision machine shop based in Coventry, specializing in high-precision CNC machining, milling, and turning. They provide engineering solutions for a variety of industries. Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Machine Operation & Setup:
⦁ Oversee and operate Siemens CNC Milling Centres, ensuring high-quality, efficient machining operations.
⦁ Ensure machines are set up according to job specifications, including tool selection, fixture setup, and program input.
⦁ Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues to minimize downtime, especially during breakdown scenarios.
⦁ Program and modify CNC Milling Centre programs using Siemens controls and offline software, ideally OneCNC or SolidCam.
⦁ Develop and optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and maintain high precision.
⦁ Quality Control & Process Improvement:
⦁ Review and ensure that all parts meet the required quality standards, tolerances, and specifications.
⦁ Perform inspections using various measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges.
⦁ Monitor and improve machining processes to ensure high-quality output, reduced waste, and improved efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications:
⦁ Proven experience in CNC machining, specifically with Siemens CNC Milling Centres.
⦁ Ability to program, set, and operate CNC Milling machines with Siemens controls; offline programming is ideal.
⦁ Experience with manual lathes, milling machines, and welding is highly desirable.
⦁ Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geometric tolerancing.
⦁ Proficiency in using a variety of measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, etc.
⦁ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a breakdown machining environment.
⦁ Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team under tight deadlines.
⦁ A proactive approach to health, safety, and quality control standards.
⦁ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with the team and management.
⦁ A relevant qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Engineering or Machining) is advantageous.
