Job Title: Adult Psychiatrist Grade: Consultant Location: London Working Hours: 40 hours Rate: Competitive, to be discussed upon application We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join a leading healthcare provider in London. This is a short-term contract position with an immediate start. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to male patients in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting. What will your responsibilities be? The successful candidate will lead clinical care for patients in Coral Ward, ensuring safety and high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities include providing Responsible Clinician input, overseeing physical health care, and collaborating with community teams and external partners. The role involves supervising and mentoring trainees, supporting ongoing learning, driving quality improvement, and contributing to efficient clinical operations. Key duties include medical input, consultation, clinical leadership, and overall clinical responsibility for patients. In addition, the Consultant will attend Mental Health Tribunals, oversee physical health care, liaise with community and prison mental health teams, and facilitate early discharge of patients. They will also ensure effective communication with General Practitioners, supervise medical staff, support Serious Incident investigations, and participate in Quality Improvement Projects and relevant meetings. Qualifications and Experiences: • You must have a full GMC licence to practice • Section 12 • Approved Clinician • Previous experience in similar role How to apply?
