Quantum Dice is one of Oxford University’s spinout successes. We are an award-winning quantum hardware company which enables trusted and secure encryption using the power of photonics and quantum mechanics. Backed by VCs and government funding, Quantum Dice generated significant customer traction across various sectors, from hardware encryption and satellite communications to simulations. Quantum Dice is looking for multiple interns interested in quantum technology and cryptography with a STEM background. As an intern at Quantum Dice, you will have the chance to work on a technical research project focusing on the design, characterization, and applications of quantum random number generators. You will also work with a startup technical team to develop your skills and gain valuable industry insights. The summer internship is a paid position. We also provide visa sponsorship. Interns are based in our office in Oxford. The internship program starts in June and has a duration of 3 months but can be adjusted according to applicants' availability. The closing date is 28th February. Decisions will be made by 14th March. Requirements Currently enrolled in a Bachelor, Masters, or PhD program in Physics, Optics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, C, or C++) Interested in quantum information and new technologies Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Preferred Experience with at least one of the following: Quantum Information, Quantum Optics, Probabilistic Computing, Laser, Photonic Integrated Circuits, API Development. Experience with cryptographically secure hashing algorithms and side-channel attacks.
