Job ref: CA240325 Job type: Permanent Location: Newry Closing date: Monday 07 Apr 2025 13:00 Job Overview Based within our R&D Clinical Laboratory the successful candidate will work in a GLP controlled environment conducting the extraction of drug actives from a wide range of biological matrices prior to quantification utilising HPLC/UPLC/LCMS-MS. They will also be required to develop and validate new HPLC/UPLC/LCMS-MS methods for the extraction of various drug actives from biological matrices as the company seeks to expand its new project portfolio. Main Activities/Tasks To conduct various analytical techniques including (but not limited to) High & Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography to determine drug content in biological matrices, To conduct method development analysis, validation analysis and study analysis, To prepare Quality Control (QC) samples for all studies & validations conducted by the laboratory, To assist in monitoring the temperatures in all controlled appliances within the laboratory, To assist in the both the processing of blank biological matrices as received by the laboratory & the checking, archiving & disposal of study wet samples, To assist Laboratory Management in ensuring the laboratory is kept both clean and tidy and adheres to GLP Guidelines at all times Essential Criteria: Applicants must therefore demonstrate the following essential criteria on their application form in order to be considered: A relevant biochemistry based degree or other related scientific discipline, (degree modules should be detailed on application form) or a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar GLP Clinical Laboratory environment. Excellent analytical technique. Experience in the compilation and reporting of analytical raw data. Good working knowledge of current Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines. Highly motivated, able to work on own initiative. Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills Desirable Criteria: Due to the nature of the role preference will be given to applicants demonstrating the following desirable criteria: Previous experience of extracting biological samples using both Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) and Liquid/Liquid Extraction and conducting HPLC/UPLC analysis or Assay and Dissolution analysis. Previous experience of conducting LCMS-MS analysis. Previous experience of working in a GLP controlled environment. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel software packages. Knowledge of the Empower Software.
